SEPPES High Speed Zipper Door: Self-Repairing Rapid Door for Industrial Facilities

What Is a SEPPES High Speed Zipper Door?

The SEPPES High Speed Zipper Door, part of the Dust Free Series, is a flexible rapid door that uses a zipper-style curtain and guide rail structure.

Its key difference from a conventional PVC high speed roll-up door is the way the curtain connects with the side tracks.

The zipper structure creates a tighter connection between the curtain and guide rails, improving sealing performance while also allowing the curtain to disengage under certain accidental impacts.

After an impact, the door is designed to automatically realign during subsequent operation instead of requiring immediate manual repair.

This feature is particularly useful in warehouses and factories where forklifts frequently pass through the doorway.

SEPPES Automatic Self-Resetting System

Forklift collisions are one of the most common causes of maintenance on conventional high speed doors.

The SEPPES zipper structure is designed so that the flexible curtain can move out of the track during an accidental collision rather than suffering rigid structural damage.

During the next operating cycle, the curtain can return to the guide rail.

This can reduce:

  • Maintenance downtime
  • Curtain replacement
  • Manual resetting
  • Production interruption

Speed and Durability

The zipper door can achieve opening speeds of up to approximately 2.0 m/s.

Critical drive components are engineered for high-frequency industrial use, with the catalogue describing testing or design capability exceeding one million operating cycles.

Standard wind resistance is stated around Level 6–8 depending on configuration.

Automation Integration

Multifunction interfaces can be reserved for equipment communication.

Typical integrations can include:

  • AGV systems
  • Conveyor systems
  • Automated production lines
  • Remote control
  • IoT systems
  • Production equipment signals

This makes the zipper door suitable for automated factories as well as conventional logistics facilities.

Safety

Infrared safety photocells and a flexible safety bottom edge can detect obstacles during door closing.

Vision windows can also be added so operators can see traffic approaching from the opposite side.

Typical Applications

The SEPPES zipper door is particularly suitable for:

  • Warehouse forklift passages
  • Manufacturing plants
  • Automated factories
  • Electronics facilities
  • Controlled production areas
  • High-frequency logistics entrances

It is a good choice when a project requires high speed, good sealing and reduced maintenance after accidental impact.
