SEPPES High Speed Fold-Up Door for Wastewater Plant

High Speed Fold-Up Door Solution for a Wastewater Treatment Plant

A wastewater treatment plant selected four high speed fold-up door systems for large entrances used by refuse trucks. Each clear opening measured W4500 × H5000 mm, so the doors needed to combine rapid access, large-opening stability, and practical operation in an exposed industrial environment.

SEPPES configured a flexible stacking design with horizontal wind bars, lifting straps, local push-button control, and remote operation. The solution supports faster vehicle movement and helps reduce the time each building opening remains fully exposed.

Why the Plant Needed a stacking high-speed door?

Refuse trucks repeatedly enter and leave the process building. A slow door can extend queue time and leave the opening exposed for longer than necessary. At the same time, a 4.5 m wide by 5 m high opening presents a larger wind load than a small internal passage.

The selected high speed stacking door factory use a flexible curtain that stacks vertically as reinforced straps lift it. Horizontal wind bars support the curtain across the opening. This structure is suited to large vehicle passages where fast vertical movement and wind resistance are both important selection factors.

The door does not eliminate the environmental conditions around wastewater processing. Wastewater facilities require coordinated treatment, ventilation, extraction, and operating procedures. The US Environmental Protection Agency provides broader information about municipal wastewater systems .In this application, the door supports the building enclosure; it is not a complete odor-control system.

How the High Speed Fold-Up Door Supports Operations?

Shorter Open Time

Rapid opening lets a truck approach and pass with less waiting. Once the passage is clear, prompt closing reduces the duration of a fully open doorway. The actual open time depends on the chosen activation method, safety devices, closing delay, traffic speed, and site procedures.

Large-Opening Stability

Horizontal wind bars divide and support the curtain across its height. The correct bar spacing, guide design, structure, and wind-resistance level must be engineered for the opening and local exposure. A quoted wind rating should only be used after the project conditions have been reviewed.

Flexible Curtain Stacking

The curtain folds into sections above the opening instead of rolling onto a compact barrel. This allows reinforcement members to travel with the curtain. It also provides a practical balance between operating speed and large-opening support.

Simple Local and Remote Commands

Operators can use a nearby push button or remote control. Final command locations should give drivers or staff a clear view of the opening. Vehicle detectors, warning lights, photocells, pull cords, or other devices may be added when required by the traffic assessment.

Stacking High-Speed Door vs. Other Door Types

Deurtype Typical strength Selection consideration
Stacking high-speed door Flexible curtain with horizontal reinforcement for large openings Requires headroom for the stacked curtain and engineered wind-bar layout
Roll-up high-speed door Compact roll-up structure and fast daily access May not provide the same reinforcement arrangement for a very large exposed opening
Rigid spiral door Rigid panels, fast movement, and refined appearance Usually a higher-investment option and may be unnecessary for this process-building entrance
Sectionaaldeur Insulated panels and established large-opening configurations Typically slower than a purpose-built high-speed traffic door

For this wastewater plant, a high speed stack doors offered an effective cost-to-performance balance for four tall truck openings.

The industrial fold up doors Role in Odor-Control Buildings

Provide the following information when specifying a high speed fold-up door:

– Finished clear width and height for every opening.
– Available headroom, side room, and mounting structure.
– Indoor and outdoor wind exposure.
– Vehicle dimensions, approach path, and daily traffic frequency.
– Required opening speed and closing delay.
– Local, remote, radar, loop, or access-control commands.
– Safety photocells, light curtains, warning devices, and emergency controls.
– Building pressure and odor-extraction strategy.
– Power supply and control-interface requirements.
– Curtain, frame, and corrosion-protection requirements.
