SEPPES supplied 14 automatic roller shutter doors for cargo screening points at Chengdu Airport in China. Each aluminum door measured W800 × H1500 mm and formed a controlled boundary between conveyor scanning equipment and the adjacent personnel passage.
The doors were designed to support both direct operator control and automatic opening signals. Depending on the approved site logic, a cargo-arrival signal can come from a photoelectric sensor, radar, or PLC. The door system can also coordinate with the conveyor, scanner, safety fence, and emergency-stop circuit.

Why Automatic Roller Shutter Doors Were Used?

Why Aluminum Was Suitable for the Compact Openings
Aluminum shutter construction provides a rigid, corrosion-resistant curtain with a relatively compact vertical operating path. For the airport screening line, the material and form supported a neat equipment interface across 14 repeated openings.
That does not mean aluminum is the only option for every conveyor opening. A flexible high speed door, machine-protection door, sectional door, or fixed guarded opening may be more suitable depending on cycle frequency, hazard type, clear opening, required speed, wind, security, and maintenance access.
